Floral Blessings Friends, my name is Christie, I am the FarmHer/Owner of Moon Mountain Farm on the Key Peninsula. I came to this chapter of my life after many decades in the fashion apparel industry and pursuing artistic mediums in my free time since design school: fiber arts/natural dyeing, ceramics, jewelry maker, gardening, weaving, spinning and most recently willow basketry. I have always felt most drawn to the crafts that connect me to nature and how I eventually took my gardening obsession to a full time farmer/florist. My farm has grown out of a deep desire to create a space that honors nature and the way humans have always been drawn to self expression through art and making. I have always been an artist creating with my hands and as the years wane I find myself leaning into teaching, sharing and connecting. Being curious is my mantra for life. I offer workshops in the realm of the skills I have utilized in my own life over the last 30 years of being a curious adult and try to listen to what my community is interested in exploring. As a cut flower grower I supply beautiful blooms to my community, grow basketry willow for weaving, plant seeds of color for natural dyeing and harvest food for our table and share the extra with our neighbors and friends. My workshops are my heart work and my favorite in that they always have a common thread- nature connects us in mind, body and soul. The work we do on our farm has evolved to be a community space for learning and growing with like-hearted individuals who seek to live a more sacred and connected life. I am excited to bring some of my offerings to the Touch of Meraki gathering space and look forward to connecting with you in creative space.
