Meet the creatrix of
A Touch of Meraki,
Brooke Rodriguez

Hi, I'm Brooke — the creatrix behind A Touch of Meraki, a heart-centered healing space in Gig Harbor, WA.

With a background in cosmetology, energy medicine, and holistic wellness, I've built a sanctuary where people can reconnect with themselves, with one another, and with the natural rhythm of life. Four years in, what I know for certain is this: none of it was built by me alone. It has been breathed into being by every soul who has crossed the threshold.

Why we're asking

A Touch of Meraki is a small business, but the Gather Space has always functioned as something closer to a commons, a room that belongs to everyone who sits in it.

Keeping it that way takes more than one pair of hands. So we're opening a door for those who feel called to give back to the space that has held them.

Where your gift goes

Sacred tools for our collective home. Instruments, altar pieces, and ceremonial objects that live in the Gather Space and belong to all of us.

Right now we are calling in a Community Grandmother Spirit Drum, crafted by Master Spirit Drum Maker Rob Murphy, to mark our four-year anniversary.

Community projects

The gatherings, ceremonies, and offerings that ask more of us than they return, the ones we hold because our community needs them, not because they pencil out.

Access for those who need it

No one should be turned away from healing because of what's in their wallet. Your gift helps us hold seats in circles, sessions, and workshops for community members who could not otherwise walk through the door. This is the quiet work, and it may be the most sacred of it all.

You're welcome to direct your gift to a specific purpose, or simply let it go where it's most needed.

She Will Belong to All of Us

A Community Grandmother Spirit Drum for our Gathering Space — called in to honor four years of A Touch of Meraki. $600 is our goal. Contributions close October 31st

Four years of doors opening

Of circles held and prayers spoken aloud. Of people arriving as strangers and leaving as kin.

This space has never belonged to one person. It has been breathed into being by every soul who has crossed its threshold.

So to mark four years, we are not buying ourselves a gift. We are asking you to help us birth one — together.

What is a Grandmother Drum?

In indigenous traditions, the Grandmother drum carries a deep, heartbeat-like resonance — a frequency of unconditional love, grounding, and ancient wisdom.

She is not so much an instrument as an ally. A presence. A pulse a room can rest inside of.

She is being called in not for any one of us, but as an enduring gift to our shared Gathering Space. She will live here. She will be sounded in circles, ceremonies, and sound healings for years to come — long after this anniversary has passed.

The Hands That Will Craft Her

We are deeply humbled that Master Spirit Drum Maker Rob Murphy will be the one to bring her into form.

Your Prayer Goes Inside Her

Before her hide is drawn across the frame, written prayers and intentions are placed inside her shell — sealed into the very body of the drum.

So when you give, send us a word. A name. A prayer. Someone you are holding.

It will go inside her. And every time she is sounded in this space, your intention will sound with her.

Offer Your Gift

Any amount is welcome, and none is small. Whether you offer five dollars or five hundred, your intention is woven into the same skin, the same frame, the same voice.

Your gift covers the drum herself, her hide and frame, and Rob's travel to us.

Prefer to give in person? Stop by the studio at 3612 Grandview Street — we would love to see you.

A Touch of Meraki is a small business rather than a nonprofit, so this is a community gift and not a tax-deductible donation. The drum will remain here in the Gathering Space, held in stewardship for all of us, and used freely in community circles, ceremony, and sound healing.

When She Is Ready to Be Born, We Will Gather

The crafting itself will be its own ceremony — an evening where you are invited to come participate, or simply sit and witness this sacred ally taking form. We will close that night the only way we could: in a drum circle, sounding her heartbeat together for the first time.

That date is still being called in. It will be announced here first.
